She was a British nurse who became famous for pioneering the treatment of wounded in war, during the Crimean War. She became known in history by the nickname "The lady of the lamp", for using this instrument to aid in lighting helping the wounded at night.
She made a great contribution to the nursing segment, cared for the poor and indigent, defended the best medical care in the wards and also created the world's first nursing school. International Nursing Day is celebrated worldwide on your birthday.
